Meet our Papua New Guinea Federation Queensland Inc. Team.

Ms Lynette Wessel

President 

I have served as the President of Papua New Guinea Federation Queensland Inc (PNGFQI) since 8th March 2021. My current role is Country Liaison Officer PNG (PALM Scheme), which I began in 2023. I am dedicated to making positive impacts on people's lives. During my free time, I enjoy working in my flower garden, as well as going on road trips and camping.


Ms Zillah Carius

Vice President

I have been President of the PNG Gulf Association of Qld Inc for almost 8 years, a working mum with 20+ years in the workforce with a background in Finance. I am passionate about supporting causes within our community that betters the lives of our people back home in PNG. Being at events gives me the uttermost feeling of gratefulness for those great initiatives and being with like-minded people bringing change, and networking. I am also passionate about giving back to the community by volunteering at annual sports events. I like playing netball, watching Bollywood and Nollywood subtitled movies, comedy and a good hearty movie with a box of tissues, fishing and spending quality time with granddaughter and family.


Ms Geua Pitt

Secretary 

Motuan - Porebada Village (Central Province) in Port Moresby. Current Job Title - Service Management Lead Industry & years - NDIS - Community Service Industry (15 years). I am passionate about People, Life, Family, Church and Identity. I love my netball, Community advocacy, Culture/Heritage and all forms of Charity and Kindness.


Ms Sabi Klink

Treasurer 

Small Business Owner with over 30 years of experience in Sales and Marketing in the FMCG industry. I am passionate about: Real estate and community service. In my free time, I enjoy Zumba, and volunteering in the community and engaging with Rotary Club initiatives, and organising humanitarian projects - such as sending a container filled with educational and sports equipment, computers, aid supplies, and wheelchairs to Papua New Guinea.


Ms Veronica Henderson

Public Relations and Social Media Coordinator

25 years in Banking background (PNG), Nursing, currently Senior Support Worker with over 15years of extensive experience in Disability and Dementia Nursing industry. Previous President of the Brisbane Bougainville community for 9 years. "I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in the community and actively contribute my time through Rotary, addressing critical issues and fulfilling community needs. In my personal time, I enjoy indulging in my love for cooking, nurturing my garden, and cherishing moments with my family''.


 Ms Mea Lillian Chapman 

Events and Cultural Coordinator

I am an Event Manager with 20 years’ experience in the FMCG and business conference industry. I am passionate about organizing great events where the attendees have fun and feel taken care of. In my free time, I enjoy pottering around in my backyard garden and reading novels.


Mr Jason Hau'ofa

Project Coordinator

I have been in the Customs/Logistics/Freight Forwarding industry both in PNG and Australia for over 25 years. I have been doing Customs clearance in Brisbane since 2019, and am working towards obtaining my Australian Customs Broker's Licence in the near future. I am passionate about encouraging fellow Papua New Guineans to strive for excellence and to feel confident in their own abilities. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing the guitar, and listening to music.


Ms Margaret Flood

Youth and Sports Coordinator

Background in finance, admin and Logistics mainly Transport. Excited to learn from others and be comfortable where I am uncomfortable. I love trying new food recipes. Motto – “Never be scared of making mistakes”


Ms Fiona Dina-Niuwan

Community Engagement Coordinator

I am proud Milne Bay mix Central and the current President for Milne Bay QLD Community Inc. I work in Pharmacy Services and my hobbies include playing netball, socializing and networking. My passions include volunteering to raise much needed funds to support our health and educational services not only in Milne Bay but also in partnership with the other provincial associations in the PNG Community. I'm passionate about seeing the PNG Community unite to achieve greater things not only here in QLD but also for our people back home in PNG.
