The Papua New Guinea Independence Cultural Day Celebration in Brisbane is a vibrant community festival organised by members and volunteers of the Papua New Guinea Federation Queensland Inc. (PNGFQI). This special event is a platform to showcase our rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and traditional performances — and in 2025, we’ll proudly celebrate PNG’s 50th Independence anniversary.
As a volunteer-led, not-for-profit event, our budget is limited and performance fees are minimal. However, the day offers a valuable opportunity to connect with community, share culture, and be part of a significant milestone in PNG’s history.
Bands, artists, and cultural performance groups who wish to participate in the 2025 celebrations — to be held on Saturday, 13 September 2025 — are kindly asked to complete and return the Performance Application Form by Monday, 14 July 2025.
